This is the newer Kickapoo High School Soccer Field Improvements Project. This project removed the old field, bleacher, and buildings. We installed a new full size soccer field with Kentucky bluegrass for the turf. It is an extremely temperamental grass for Missouri’s climate. So very much caution and care was given throughout the duration of the construction project. It took longer to complete the project because of continued rain, snow, freezing delays. Then after it would rain or snow the 6 inch thick topsoil would become too muddy to work in, until the soil dried some. Summer would have been the best time to have built this project, but the beginning of December was the project start time. The bleachers, concrete, field, sprinkler system, electrical, and plumbing work turned excellent. Regardless we got it completed and the school is happy, just probably not for the fact that they picked bluegrass instead of a more normal Missiouri grass.
